The Netherlands might be best known for tulips, canals, and cycling — but the Dutch skate scene is world-class, and seriously underrated. Here's a stat that puts it in perspective: the Netherlands has over 650 skateparks, of which around 360 are concrete, giving it a density of 3.5 skateparks per 100,000 inhabitants — good enough for 10th in the world. Even more striking, with one skatepark for every 64 square kilometres, the country ranks 2nd on the planet for skatepark density by area, behind only Liechtenstein. For a small, flat nation, that's an extraordinary commitment to skateboarding.
From world-class concrete parks to legendary street plazas that have drawn pros from across the globe, the Netherlands punches well above its weight when it comes to skating infrastructure. Whether you're a local looking for your next spot or a travelling skater planning a Euro trip, this guide covers some of the best skateparks the Netherlands has to offer.
Built in 2014 by SkateOn and located on the Sicilieboulevard near the beach in Rotterdam's Nesselande district, this park is a well-rounded concrete destination for both street and transition skaters. The centrepiece is an open bowl connected directly to a street section, creating natural flow between the two styles. The setting next to the Zevenhuizerplas — a lake with an artificial beach — gives it a relaxed, summery atmosphere that makes it a great full-day destination — session the concrete, then head to the water.

Located on Zeeburgereiland and officially opened on June 19, 2020, Zeeburg is the largest concrete skatepark in the Netherlands, covering approximately 3,850 square metres. Designed by renowned skatepark architects Glifberg & Lykke and constructed by SkateOn, it was funded by the Municipality of Amsterdam as part of a broader plan to integrate recreational spaces into the new Sportheldenbuurt residential area. The park is divided into three seamlessly connected zones with a geometric layout that allows smooth transitions between them, catering to everyone from first-timers to Olympic-level athletes. One standout detail: the intricate blue and white tile work designed by artist Iris Roskam, giving the park a visual identity unlike anywhere else in the country.
📍 Eef Kamerbeekstraat 43, 1095 MP Amsterdam

Quite possibly the most beautifully situated skatepark in the Netherlands — and a contender for one of the most striking in Europe. Unveiled in May 2025 and designed and built by Nine Yards in close collaboration with the City of Amsterdam and the local skate community, Museumplein sits right between the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum, and the Stedelijk Museum. The design pays deliberate homage to its surroundings: the custom rails mirror the window frames of the Rijksmuseum, while the brickwork references Amsterdam School architecture. What started as an informal skate gathering spot has been elevated into a world-class concrete facility — compact and versatile, balancing fluid flow with technical precision. Suitable for everyone from local pros to complete beginners to curious tourists stumbling out of the Van Gogh.
📍 Honthorststraat 22, 1071 DG Amsterdam

Rotterdam's Westblaak is the stuff of legend in the Dutch skate scene. Sitting right in the middle of the city's busy thoroughfare, this park has been a magnet for the international skate community for years. Renovated into a full concrete park in 2016, it now features hips, banks, slappy curbs, and two down rails across a well-designed flow layout. The urban setting — surrounded by traffic and city life — gives Westblaak a gritty, authentic atmosphere you won't find anywhere else in the country. Skaters travel from across Europe just to session here, and the level of skating on any given day can be jaw-dropping.
📍 Westblaak, Rotterdam Centrum

A legendary spot in the Amsterdam skate scene for decades, Olympiaplein recently got a significant upgrade without losing an ounce of its raw, authentic street character. Nine Yards teamed up with Pontus Alv — founder of Polar Skate Co. — and the Municipality of Amsterdam for a community-first renovation of this massive 3,000 m² concrete plaza. Alv donated the custom designs for seven premium free-standing elements tailored to the site's daily users; Nine Yards handled the technical build, constructing everything to strict NEN-EN 14794:2019 safety standards. The result: four custom granite curbs and ledges, a steel flatrail, and a distinctive pole jam inspired by Amsterdam's iconic tree protectors. Backed by Nike SB, Ben-G Skateshop, and Pop Trading Company, Olympiaplein remains one of the most vibrant and accessible cultural skate stages in the country. If you're visiting Amsterdam and want to link up with locals, this is your spot.
📍 Olympiaplein, Amsterdam Zuid

One of the most talked-about parks in the Netherlands right now. Located next to the North Dunes (Noordduinen) and the SCUM youth centre, the Katwijk skatepark was massively redesigned by SkateOn in late 2024 — transitioning from a basic metal setup to a state-of-the-art concrete facility that has quickly become one of the best in the region. The centrepiece bowl is built for height and width, drawing experienced transition skaters and BMX riders alike, with a deep section that rewards commitment. Because the park sits close to a campsite and beach area, sunny weekend afternoons can get crowded — hit it on a weekday morning for a cleaner session.

One of the most architecturally remarkable skateparks in Europe, Brasa opened in July 2025 built directly across the roof of the redeveloped A9 highway tunnel in Amsterdam. Commissioned by the City of Amsterdam and designed and built by Nine Yards, this 1,600 m² skate track stretches 125 metres in a ribbon-like layout through a sweeping green recreational space. The engineering required supporting 500 kg/m² across tunnel infrastructure — a serious feat. Co-created with local riders, the park is a masterclass in versatility: a mini ramp, flow zone, and pump track blend seamlessly into classic street features including rails, a euro gap, a quarter pipe, and a bowl corner. Suitable for skateboarders, BMXers, scooter riders, and inline skaters.
📍 Kelbergenpad, 1104 VA Amsterdam

One of the largest urban sports installations in the Benelux, the Roosendaal Urban Sports Park spans two full hectares (10,000 m²) near the city's central station. The skate section alone covers a premium 1,200 m² of custom concrete — featuring quarter pipes, funboxes, manual pads, rails, ledges, banks, curbs, stairs, a London gap, and a speed bump — with an open bowl and long street section that earned a 5-star review from the Trucks & Fins community. Beyond skating, the park integrates a parkour/freerunning course, 3x3 basketball courts, and an outdoor street dance floor. Designed and built by Nine Yards, the project honours the industrial heritage of the station zone: an old railway track is woven into the landscape and a former watchtower serves as the park's central visual anchor.
📍 Industriestraat 69, 4704 AB Roosendaal

Brand new in 2026 and already tagged as a bucket list park on Trucks & Fins, Kenzy is a masterpiece of skatepark design. Stretching over 120 metres, the park is divided into four seamlessly connected zones: a flow-focused mini ramp, a high-speed transition pool, a classic street course with stairs and rails, and a technical plaza — but the genius is in how they connect. Designed by Concrete Matters and built by Nine Yards, every radius, coping choice, and obstacle spacing was calculated to let riders link endless, uninterrupted lines across the full park. Open sightlines and generous empty spaces are as intentional as the obstacles themselves. Rated 5 stars by early visitors.
📍 Europapark, 2408 EN Alphen aan den Rijn

Completed in 2022 in Zeeland's provincial capital, the Middelburg skatepark is a prime example of Dutch civic commitment to skate infrastructure. After the city's previous park was removed, leaving local youth without a facility, the Municipality of Middelburg moved fast — partnering with Nine Yards on a Burnside Constructions layout to accelerate delivery. The result is a durable concrete park set within a beautifully landscaped green environment, integrating quarter pipes, funbox, manual pad, rails, ledges, banks, curbs, an open bowl, and a spine/pyramid. A future-proof addition to an often-overlooked corner of the country.
📍 Veersepoort, 4332 RA Middelburg

If you needed any more proof that the Dutch take skateboarding seriously, here it is:
Stat | Figure | World Ranking |
|---|---|---|
Total skateparks | 650+ | — |
Concrete parks | ~360 | — |
Parks per 100,000 inhabitants | 3.5 | 🏆 10th |
Parks per 100 km² | ~1.56 (1 per 64 km²) | 🏆 2nd (after Liechtenstein) |
For context: most countries that rank highly in skatepark density do so because they're tiny. The Netherlands earns its place through sheer investment in skate infrastructure across a country of 17+ million people. That's a culture, not a coincidence.
This list is just the highlights — the Netherlands has over 650 skateparks waiting to be explored. Check out our map to find every single one of them, wherever you are in the country. From hidden neighbourhood spots to brand-new concrete builds, we've got them all covered.
