We went to check out the New Paio Pires Pump Track in Seixal
The Parque Urbano do Casal do Marco has officially put Seixal on the map for the national pumptrack community, marking a significant milestone as the 24th track of its kind in Portugal. Located in the heart of the Paio Pires area, this new green lung spans over 10,000 square meters and transforms what was once an underutilized space into a high-energy hub for wheeled sports. The project was born from local community engagement through the Fórum Seixal.
The standout feature is undoubtedly the asphalt pump track, which has been meticulously laid to provide a smooth, fast surface suitable for a wide range of disciplines. Its strategic layout offers a mix of rhythmic rollers and banked berms that cater to those looking to refine their pumping technique or simply enjoy a continuous loop of speed.
Beyond the asphalt, the park’s design shows a thoughtful integration with its surroundings. To combat the noise and visual impact of the nearby EN10, the municipality implemented a dense afforestation plan that creates a natural barrier, giving the session a more secluded and immersive feel. The inclusion of a walking circuit and fitness equipment makes it a versatile destination where you can warm up before hitting the track or hang out between runs in the shaded leisure areas.
For the Trucks and Fins community, this spot is a mandatory addition to any Margem skate trip. The accessibility from the main road and the high-quality finish of the 24th pump track in the country make it a top-tier location for a "Spot Check."
