Day 2 – Surf, Stitches & Skate in Santa Cruz

Day 2 of our skate and surf tour didn’t exactly go as planned. We started the morning with a quick surf at Praia da Física in Santa Cruz — emphasis on quick. After one of the shortest surf sessions ever, Jonathan caught his board right on the head. Before we knew it, we were racing to the hospital in Torres Vedras.

Two hours and 17 stitches later, Jonathan was officially battle-scarred and ready to roll again. Nothing like a little chaos to spice up a road trip.

From there, we headed straight to the new skatepark in A-dos-Cunhados. Not the most exciting park in Portugal — it’s another one of those copy-paste builds we’ve seen way too often — but still, we managed to have a good session and a lot of laughs with the crew.

We wrapped up the day back at the Pousadas de Juventude, where things got competitive with a game of SKATE in the pool and a solid stroganoff cooked by Buga and Rodrigo.

Another park ticked off on our mission to skate every park in Portugal. Not the day we expected, but definitely one we won’t forget.
