Today Webz and Holly travel across the UK To visit a skatepark that’s been making the rounds on social media. But for all the wrong reasons.
This is Anstey skatepark and it was unveiled by the local council at the end of February 2026. The fact that we are still getting “new” skateparks of this Abysmal quality is mind blowing for the average every day to day skateboarder/ Scooter/BMX rider. The council say in there Instagram post that this park is designed for and aimed at 5-8 years olds.
This statement alone tells us exactly how much thought and care went into the planning, preparation, and build time.
There is no such thing as a skatepark specific to this age group, and perhaps they just decided to get all the usual skatepark obstacles, cram them into a small area, say its for kids, Then just be done with it.
It’s safe to say that the residents are Furious. as this Masterpiece set the local area back a Lump sum of £45,000/$60,000 and its completely Un-rideable from almost every angle. My plea to any local council that has a skatepark build in its plans is
PLEASE consult the local riders both young and old, get some feedback and work together. Because when builds like this happen, not only is a huge amount of money wasted, but the trust in the local establishment has gone down the drain.
