Just came back from the 8th anniversary of Santo André Skate Plaza — and it honestly feels like the park opened yesterday. Clean. Well maintained. Constantly improving. A skatepark with soul. I wish every city treated their skateparks like this. Too often, parks are built with great excitement… only to be neglected right after the ribbon is cut. Graffiti piles up, ledges crumble, and what could’ve been a community hub slowly falls apart. Santo André is the exception — and a shining example of what’s possible when a city truly supports its skate scene. Huge respect to Xixo Andrade and everyone involved for showing us how it’s done. Skateparks deserve care. They deserve a future. Let’s build and maintain.
