Opened in 2021, Tarouca Skatepark forms part of the Parque Ribeirinho de Tarouca, a 7.5-hectare riverside recreation area developed along the Varosela and Torno rivers. The park was officially opened on 27 June 2021 and includes a skatepark, multi-sport court, mini-golf course, outdoor gym, swimming pool, children's playground and picnic areas.
The compact skatepark features a miniramp and several basic obstacles arranged in a straightforward back-and-forth layout, making it suited to local sessions and riders developing their skills.
The wider Parque Ribeirinho project was awarded by the Municipality of Tarouca to Arcelino Cardoso da Costa in 2018. The company was responsible for the construction of the riverside park under the main public-works contract, although no separate specialist skatepark designer or manufacturer has been identified.
Set alongside the rivers and surrounded by trees and green space, the skatepark benefits from an unusually scenic natural setting and forms part of one of Tarouca's main recreational destinations.
