Parque Infantil da Alagoa, 3620 Moimenta da Beira, Portugal
Built as part of the Parque da Alagoa project between 2018 and 2020, Moimenta da Beira Skatepark is a compact modular skatepark located beside the schools and recreational facilities in the Parque da Alagoa. The park was specifically requested by local skaters and became part of the municipality's wider €250,000 development of the Alagoa area.
The park has a traditional back-and-forth layout with a quarter pipe, bank, jump box, spine and ledge, providing a mixture of transition and street obstacles on a flat paved surface.
The project is particularly notable for its community origins. Local skater Luís Alves approached the municipality as a young teenager asking for a dedicated skatepark and was subsequently involved in the development of the project. The municipality budgeted approximately €25,000 for the skatepark.
The wider Parque da Alagoa officially opened in July 2020, with the skatepark among its recreational facilities. The park also includes a children's playground, picnic area, outdoor exercise facilities, water features and walking routes.
