Praça São João Baptista 5-3, 2800-199 Almada, Portugal
Located in the absolute center of Almada at Praça São João Baptista 5-3, this iconic plaza is the "main stage" for street skating on the south side of the river. Known for its wide-open layout and technical architecture, it is so well-regarded in the Portuguese scene that it frequently hosts the Liga Pro Skate (LPS) Almada competitions, with pro-level courses being built directly over the natural stone ground.
The plaza is a vast expanse of polished stone and high-quality concrete. It is a pure street spot where the architecture naturally creates a variety of challenges for technical riders.
Light Rail (MST): The Metro Sul do Tejo stops at "Bento Gonçalves" or "Almada," both of which are within a 2-minute skate of the plaza.
Ferry: From Lisbon, take the ferry from Cais do Sodré to Cacilhas. From the terminal, it is a short, uphill skate or a quick light rail trip to the center.
Bus: Dozens of Carris Metropolitana lines stop at the "Praça São João Baptista" hubs, connecting you to Costa da Caparica, Seixal, and Setúbal.
Car: There is underground public parking directly beneath the square (Parque Praça S. João Baptista), making it incredibly easy to access if you’re driving.
