Located inside Parque Urbano Dr. Mário Fonseca, next to the municipal swimming pools, this purpose-built concrete skatepark opened in 2022 as part of the redevelopment of one of Lousada's main urban parks. The project originated from a proposal submitted by local young people Raul Sobral, Daniel Teixeira and João Moreira and was subsequently developed by the municipality with support from the PARU Norte 2020 programme and European FEDER funding.
The skatepark covers approximately 620 m² and is built across four levels that follow the natural topography of the site. A central pyramid connects the different platforms, with curbs and handrails positioned along the edges to create multiple lines through the park. A dedicated parkour area was built alongside the skatepark, bringing the total intervention area to approximately 900 m².
The park's stepped design gives it a distinctive character compared with a conventional flat street plaza, allowing riders to use the changes in elevation to connect ledges, banks, rails and the central pyramid. The skatepark forms part of a larger public recreation area with green spaces, sports facilities and the municipal swimming pools.
