R. Nossa Sra. da Guia, Atouguia da Baleia, Portugal
Opened in 2025, Boa Sombra is a private indoor and outdoor skatepark in Atouguia da Baleia, near Peniche. The facility combines a sheltered wooden skatepark with outdoor riding areas, creating an all-weather destination for local and visiting skaters.
The park features a mixture of banks, quarter pipes, a miniramp, pyramid, funbox, ledges, manual pads, flat rails, handrails and kickers, providing both street and transition lines.
Boa Sombra quickly became an important addition to the Portuguese skate scene. In September 2025 it hosted the Portugal Rookie Fest, the Portuguese stop of the World Rookie Tour, with international young riders competing at the newly opened facility.
The park is particularly interesting because it is community-built, rather than a conventional municipal project delivered by one of Portugal's major commercial skatepark contractors. It combines skateboarding with a broader community space offering classes, events and other activities.
