Polidesportivo Francisco do Paço, 2830-009 Bairro Alfredo da Silva – Alto do Seixalinho, Barreiro, Portugal
Built by Wasteland Skateparks in 2024, the Alto do Seixalinho Skatepark is a compact concrete bowl located at the Polidesportivo Francisco do Paço in Barreiro. The bowl was developed as a community-driven project by the Gasoline Association through the Comunidades em Ação programme, bringing a dedicated skate facility to the Alto do Seixalinho neighbourhood.
The park consists of a concrete skate bowl with handcrafted stone pool coping, giving it a distinctly traditional pool-skating character. Its curved transitions allow riders to generate speed and connect continuous lines around the bowl, while the pool coping provides opportunities for grinds and other transition tricks.
The project is particularly interesting because of its grassroots origins. Rather than being part of the original 2021 renovation of the Francisco do Paço sports complex, the bowl was added later as a community-led skateboarding project. Wasteland Skateparks carried out the construction, creating a purpose-built concrete facility within the existing sports area.
