ABOUT SKATEPARK

Viana Do Castelo miniramp

Located at Jardim da Marina beside the Lima River in Viana do Castelo, this historic miniramp is a surviving piece of Portugal's early skateboarding infrastructure. The ramp was already documented at the riverside location by 2010, while research into the history of Portuguese skateparks describes it as arguably one of the oldest skate facilities in the country, estimated to have been around 30 years old at the time.

The miniramp is believed to date from the early 1990s, or possibly even the late 1980s, although an exact construction or opening year has not yet been established. Its location at Jardim da Marina has been associated with skateboarding for decades, making it an important historical spot in northern Portugal.
