Built by A|Park (the former Academia dos Patins) in 2024, Ílhavo Pumptrack is a compact 500 m² asphalt Speedring pumptrack located in Parque Urbano da Malhada, beside the municipal sports facilities in the centre of Ílhavo. The track was designed to provide an accessible introduction to pumptrack riding while also allowing more experienced riders to work on speed, flow and technique.
The flowing circuit combines rollers, berms and rhythm sections, allowing riders to generate and maintain speed through body movement rather than constant pedalling. It is suitable for BMX, mountain bikes, skateboards, scooters and inline skates, making it a versatile addition to Ílhavo's public sports infrastructure.
The pumptrack was created as part of the €150,000+ redevelopment of Parque Urbano da Malhada, replacing an unused and deteriorated mini-golf circuit. The wider park now includes basketball and football courts, tennis courts, a public padel court and the pumptrack, all available free of charge.
