Located in Parque dos Amores / Parque da Cidade, close to the University of Aveiro, the Aveiro Skatepark is actually made up of two connected generations of skatepark. The original compact concrete park was built in 2013, providing a smaller space for beginners and local sessions.
In 2020, the Municipality of Aveiro expanded the facility with a new approximately 1,500 m² skatepark, creating a much larger and more complete layout while deliberately retaining the original park as an initiation area. The new section includes a large bowl, pyramids, quarters of different sizes, inclines, a start box with rails, curbs, euro gaps, corners and a wide selection of street obstacles.
The new skatepark was designed and built by A|Park (the former Academia dos Patins) in 2020 and was developed with input from local skateboarders and BMX riders. The €158,841 project was designed to meet the requirements of the Portuguese national skateboarding circuit and to accommodate beginners, amateur riders and professionals.
Today, the original concrete section and the newer park function together as one of Aveiro's main skateboarding facilities, offering a mixture of street, bowl and transition terrain within Parque dos Amores.
