ABOUT SKATEPARK

Richard taylor skatepark

Richard Taylor Memorial Skatepark is a concrete skatepark at Cold Knap in Barry, South Wales, built in memory of local professional skater and British champion Richard John Taylor, who died in 2004. The original skatepark opened in 2007, funded by the Richard Taylor Memorial Fund. The original facility used composite timber ramps and remained in place for more than 15 years.

The original park was replaced with a new freeform concrete skatepark in 2023. Bendcrete Leisure Ltd was contracted to design and build the new facility, working closely with the local skating community to develop the final design. Construction took around five months, using spray-applied concrete.
