Located in the Relva parish of Ponta Delgada, just a short distance from João Paulo II Airport, this compact skatepark forms part of the local sports complex. The park is an established facility on São Miguel, with evidence of it being used by BMX riders and skaters by at least 2012.
The skatepark sits in an unusual setting beside the airport, with the surrounding landscape of western Ponta Delgada providing a distinctive backdrop. Its location also places it close to the local football facilities and other community sports infrastructure.
The park has also been used as a venue for public art. In 2021, the Anda&Fala arts programme presented Vai e Vem, a permanent installation at the Skatepark Relva, incorporating the site's graffiti, wind, landscape and the sound of aircraft into the artwork.
