Located inside Parque Urbano de Ponta Delgada, this asphalt pumptrack is part of the city's largest urban green space and provides a dedicated circuit for BMX, skateboards, scooters and other wheeled sports. The park is situated along Avenida das Comunidades Açorianas, close to Pico do Funcho. The pumptrack is a recent addition to the Parque Urbano, with the Municipality of Ponta Delgada listing the project as a completed municipal work with an investment of €155,926.87. Local reporting confirms that the municipality invested approximately €157,000 in its construction.
The track was built by Velosolutions, which is also credited as the designer. Its smooth asphalt surface and flowing rollers and berms make it particularly suitable for maintaining speed without pedalling. The wider Parque Urbano itself dates back to 2009, but the pumptrack is considerably newer and should not be confused with the original park development.
The facility has already become an important cycling venue in São Miguel. In 2025, the Associação de Ciclismo dos Açores organised the first Taça de Pump Track competition at the Parque Urbano, bringing riders from different age groups to the track.
