Rawreth Skatepark, located beside Rayleigh Leisure Centre on Priory Chase, is a modern concrete skatepark developed as part of Rochford District Council’s programme to replace ageing local skate facilities. The new park replaced the previous composite skatepark, which consisted of metal-framed Skatelite ramps on a tarmac surface. The new skatepark was designed and built by Betongpark and forms the second major project delivered by Betongpark for Rochford District Council, alongside the nearby Hullbridge Skatepark.
The design deliberately takes a different approach from Hullbridge's bowl-focused layout, instead creating a street-oriented strip with a simple back-and-forth flow. The park features ledges, hubbas, out-ledge, flat-bar rail, handrail and flat banks, providing a compact but varied selection of street obstacles. The entire concrete surface is finished in a distinctive red pigment, complemented by contrasting black-painted steel elements, giving the park a strong visual identity as well as a durable riding surface.
The project was part of a wider £300,000 investment covering new skateparks in Rayleigh and Hullbridge, with the Rayleigh facility located close to the leisure centre on Priory Chase.
