Hullbridge Skatepark is a modern concrete skatepark located at Hullbridge Recreation Ground on Pooles Lane in Essex. The new facility officially opened in July 2024, replacing the previous skate area and providing a significantly upgraded destination for the local wheeled-sports community. Designed and built by Betongpark, the skatepark was funded through Section 106 developer contributions and was developed with direct input from the local community.
The park is centred around a closed bowl design, constructed using district-pigmented concrete. The design takes inspiration from the backyard pools that played an important role in the origins of skateboarding in California. Different ramp heights and transition profiles create a varied bowl with plenty of opportunities to generate speed and connect lines.
The skatepark sits within Hullbridge Recreation Ground, which also includes other recreational facilities and a nautical-themed children's playground overlooking the River Crouch.
