Built in 2025, the new Parque da Juventude Skatepark is a large concrete skatepark and BMX facility located within Portimão's 15,000 m² Parque da Juventude. Designed by Wasteland Skateparks and built by Paulo Ribeiro, the park draws inspiration from the distinctive architecture of the Fortaleza de Santa Catarina, giving the concrete landscape a strong local identity.
The park combines street and park-style skating, with a flowing concrete layout designed to accommodate both skateboarders and BMX riders. Its modern competition-oriented design has already been used for national-level skateboarding, with the 2025 Liga Pro Skate National Championship held here shortly after the facility opened.
The skatepark forms part of a major redevelopment of Parque da Juventude. Construction began after the park closed in October 2023, with the old skatepark removed and replaced by other sports facilities. The new Parque Radical was built on the former remote-control car track as part of the wider €1.69 million redevelopment.
The renewed Parque da Juventude officially reopened in April 2025, while the new skate structure was subsequently inaugurated during the July 2025 national competition.
