Trucks and Fins is a huge present to the whole skate community - not just for the skating people, but also for shops, builders and schools. Super easy to use and can't believe how complete it is.

The Nelson Skatepark, situated in the heart of Nelson, British Columbia, within the Art Gibbon Park (Beasley Park) area, is a 15,000-square-foot masterpiece that serves as a regional destination for the Kootenays. This project was designed and built by New Line Skateparks in 2014 after years of tireless advocacy and fundraising by the Nelson Friends of the Skatepark. The facility was designed to reflect Nelson's unique mountain culture and provide a high-performance space that can accommodate the city's exceptionally talented pool of skaters, bikers, and scooter riders.
The design is a "mountain-modern" hybrid, blending deep transition elements with a sprawling, technical street plaza. A standout feature is the massive flow bowl, which includes multiple depths, a cradle-like extension, and authentic pool coping, offering some of the most challenging transition terrain in the province. The street section is equally robust, featuring granite-capped ledges, "slappy" curbs, steep banks, and custom-designed rails that mirror urban architecture. The park utilizes the natural topography of the site, creating multi-level tiers that allow for "infinite lines" where riders can drop from the top street level directly into the flow bowl.
Given its location in the interior of BC, the park was constructed with high-durability concrete and specialized drainage systems to handle significant snowfall and spring runoff. The design-build team also focused heavily on "place-making," integrating large natural rock features and timber elements that help the park blend into the surrounding forest. The facility includes a professional-grade lighting system for night sessions and ample seating for the community. Today, the Nelson Skatepark is widely regarded as one of the best "small-town" parks in North America, known for its creative lines, high-speed layout, and inclusive atmosphere.
