Built in 2025, Mira Sintra Skatepark is a new facility within Parque Urbano de Mira Sintra, located between Avenida 25 de Abril and Rua Primeiro de Maio. The project transformed the footprint of an underused former skating rink into a dedicated urban-sports facility.
The approximately 630 m² park features a dense street-flow layout combining banks, quarter pipes, funbox, ledges, handrails, flat rails and manual pads, providing lines for skateboarding, BMX and inline skating.
The construction was formally tendered by the Municipality of Sintra in 2025, with a base contract value of €98,924.75 excluding VAT. By August 2025, the municipality confirmed that the new Skate Park was completed. The park was designed and built by A|Park (the former Academia dos Patins).
The park forms part of the “Operação Integrada Local de Sintra – Bairro de Mira Sintra”, funded through the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), with the wider intervention representing an investment of approximately €954,000.
