ABOUT SKATEPARK

Lakkegata skatepark

Lakkegata Skatepark is a modern concrete skatepark located as part of Lakkegata Activity Park in Oslo, Norway. The skatepark was designed, engineered and built by Betongpark, with construction taking place between April and June 2019. The skate area was designed by Daryl Nobbs of Betongpark as a low-threshold facility that could accommodate different levels of ability and multiple wheeled sports. The layout combines curved concrete forms, a bowl and pumptrack-style terrain, creating a flowing environment suitable for both beginners and experienced riders.

The skatepark is part of a larger 2,800 m² activity and schoolyard park serving Lakkegata School and the surrounding neighbourhood. The wider project includes spaces for recreation, socialising and different forms of physical activity, transforming what was previously a tired asphalt area into a vibrant public space.

The project received significant architectural recognition, including a nomination for the Oslo City Architecture Prizeand a nomination for the EU Mies Award 2022.
