Located in Vendas de Azeitão, this is one of the older surviving skateparks in the Setúbal area, dating back to the early days of Portuguese municipal skateboarding. The park was inaugurated in 2005 and originally featured a quarterpipe, wedge corner, rectangular grind rail and skateable bench.
The original ramps were supplied by Woodward, making the park an interesting piece of Portuguese skateboarding history. Woodward's modular equipment was used to create the original setup, which was typical of the small municipal skateparks being installed across Portugal during the 2000s.
The park has survived for more than two decades, although the original equipment has naturally aged and the facility has required maintenance over the years. Its relatively simple layout is very different from the large concrete parks that became increasingly common in Portugal during the 2010s.
A separate Skate Parque de Azeitão project was later developed in 2021, meaning the older Vendas de Azeitão facility should not be confused with the newer park. The original 2005 park remains an interesting example of the early modular generation of Portuguese skateparks.
