Skatepark de Marañon is a 600 m² concrete street-focused skatepark located beside Avenue du Professeur Gregorio Marañon in Saint-Jean-de-Luz. The park is a compact urban facility designed for everyday skating, with a combination of banks, quarters, ledges, manual pads, rails, kickers and gaps.
The layout provides a variety of technical street obstacles within a relatively small footprint. Features include a quarter pipe, bank, manual pad, kicker, gap, flat rail, ledge and speed bump, allowing riders to connect different lines across the park. The concrete construction gives the facility a smooth, permanent riding surface. The skatepark has a longer history at the Marañon site. In 2013, Saint-Jean-de-Luz municipality formally approved plans for a new municipal beginner skatepark for children aged 8–12 on the Marañon parking area, confirming that the location was already associated with skateboarding and that the municipality was looking to improve the facility.
The current concrete streetpark is attributed to Hall04 et Cie, which handled the design and project management, with Concrete Waves Skateparks responsible for the construction.
