Trucks and Fins is a huge present to the whole skate community - not just for the skating people, but also for shops, builders and schools. Super easy to use and can't believe how complete it is.

The Roanoke Skatepark (officially known as the Wasena Skatepark) is a premier 20,000-square-foot concrete facility located in the heart of Wasena Park along the scenic Roanoke River Greenway. This landmark project was designed by New Line Skateparks and built by Artisan Skateparks, opening in 2017 to replace a former aging modular park. The development was fueled by a dedicated community effort and a "skate-centric" vision from Roanoke Parks and Recreation to create a world-class destination that integrates seamlessly with the surrounding riverfront landscape.
The park is designed as a high-flow "hybrid" facility, offering a sophisticated mix of terrain that caters to all-wheel users of every skill level. It features a massive multi-level flow bowl with pool coping and varied depths for transition enthusiasts, alongside a technical street plaza. The plaza is outfitted with precision-engineered hubba ledges, flat rails, a "big-four" stair set, and a unique "A-frame" feature that serves as a central focal point. The layout utilizes the natural slope of the site to create long, continuous lines, allowing riders to maintain speed through the various "zones" without interruption.
Beyond the concrete, the Roanoke Skatepark is a model for thoughtful site integration. It features significant integrated spectator seating, shaded resting areas, and a signature bridge-style entrance that connects the park directly to the Greenway. The use of stamped concrete patterns and high-quality metalwork ensures the park is as aesthetically pleasing as it is functional. As a key anchor of the Wasena neighborhood, the park frequently hosts regional competitions and community clinics, solidifying its reputation as one of the finest action sports hubs in the Mid-Atlantic.
