The original Skate Park de Ramalde was built in 2019 as part of the Parque Desportivo de Ramalde/INATEL. Construction began in July 2019, with the project covering approximately 950 m² and including street and transition obstacles. The original construction was completed in November 2019, and the park was inaugurated that month.
The park was designed by architect and skater Francisco “França” Lopez, the founder of SKATELOPEZ. The physical construction was carried out by Fernando L. Gaspar – Sinalização e Equipamentos Rodoviários, S.A.
There was then a major 2021 expansion, also designed by Francisco Lopez. The expansion added around 600 m², bringing the total area to approximately 1,550 m², with new street and transition platforms. The expansion was completed on 8 November 2021.
