ABOUT SKATEPARK

Merlo skatepark

The Merlo Skatepark, officially known as Poma Park, is a cornerstone of the skate community in the western suburbs. Located at Av. Julián M. Castro and 25 de Mayo (within the Parque San Martín area), it is one of the two main municipal skate facilities in Merlo, specifically serving the central and San Martín districts.

Poma Park is a dedicated concrete facility that offers a classic skatepark experience in the heart of Merlo. Unlike the massive, newer complex at "Los Patos" in Libertad, Poma Park is known for its intimate, community-driven vibe. It serves as a primary site for the Municipal Skate School, providing a structured environment where local youth can learn the fundamentals of skateboarding and BMX for free.

The facility is equipped with public floodlights, ensuring that sessions can continue safely after dark. Free and open to the public. To participate in official school activities, local riders typically register at the Subsecretaría de Deportes.
