Located in the central sports quarter of Maia, the Maia Skatepark is a large 2,031 m² concrete facility integrated into the Parque da Maia urban park. The layout combines street and transition elements, with more than 30 obstacles including stairs, ledges, curbs, rails, banks, ramps and flowing transition sections. Designed to accommodate different levels of ability, the park offers both technical street lines and larger ramp features.
The skatepark was designed by architect Francisco Lopez and built by GASPAR as a SKATELOPEZ by FLGaspar project in 2017. The facility was developed as part of the redevelopment of Maia's central sports quarter and was designed to blend the skatepark into the surrounding landscape and public space. The park has hosted stages of the Portuguese National Skateboarding Circuit, including the national final in 2017.
The project provides space for approximately 75–100 riders to use the facility simultaneously and forms part of a larger public area incorporating green spaces, pedestrian routes and other sports facilities.
