Located inside Parque da Ilha Mágica do Lido in Venteira, Amadora, this distinctive concrete skatepark forms part of a large urban recreation park dedicated to water and extreme sports. The skatepark occupies the southern section of the park and was designed to accommodate both skateboarding and cycling, with the facility originally intended to host national and international competitions.
The park was designed and built by SKATELOPEZ / Francisco “França” Lopez in 2005 and officially inaugurated on 11 September 2005. The wider Ilha Mágica do Lido project included a large lake, children's recreation areas, climbing structures, a slide, cable car and other sporting facilities, making it an ambitious municipal leisure project for its time. Contemporary reports from 2005 already describe the park as including a dedicated skateboarding track.
The skatepark combines street and transition terrain, including bowls, quarterpipes, banks, ledges and rails. More than two decades after its opening, it remains an important example of the early-2000s generation of Portuguese concrete skateparks and one of the notable projects from SKATELOPEZ's earlier period.
