Located in Parque da Cidade in the Costa area of Guimarães, this concrete skatepark is one of Portugal's most distinctive facilities. The park combines a Californian-style kidney pool with a flow section and street obstacles, creating a varied layout for both transition and street skating. The green surroundings, pergola and lighting integrate the skatepark into the wider Parque da Cidade.
The skatepark was designed and built by Wasteland Skateparks, with the project designed by architect André Castanho and engineering collaboration from Nuno Almeida. Wasteland skateparks describes the project as featuring the first Californian-style kidney pool in Portugal. Construction began in October 2017, and the completed skatepark was officially inaugurated on 15 August 2018 after an investment of approximately €143,500 plus VAT by the Municipality of Guimarães.
