Located directly beside the Atlantic Ocean on the seafront of Buarcos, this concrete skatepark occupies a spectacular position overlooking one of Portugal's largest urban beaches. The park combines a small open bowl with street-oriented terrain, including banks, stairs, ledges, quarterpipes, handrails and flat rails.
The current skatepark was built in 2016 as part of the major redevelopment of the Figueira da Foz and Buarcos seafront. The wider project was designed to improve the relationship between the city and the beach and included new pedestrian and cycling routes, sports facilities, an athletics track and the skatepark.
The current concrete facility replaced an older wooden skatepark at Buarcos. By 2015, local riders were already complaining about the deterioration of the wooden ramps, which had been particularly affected by the rain, wind and salty maritime environment. The previous wooden park had itself replaced an earlier wooden setup, meaning the location had already been used for skateboarding for years before the concrete park was constructed.
With its oceanfront location and direct access to the beach, the Figueira da Foz Skatepark is one of the more scenic skateparks in central Portugal, although the current park is actually disappointing.

Locals here dont have words to describe how shitty this skatepark is. The skatepark is well placed for sure, but it does not meet the needs of those who frequent it. What a fail 👎🏽
Fizeram a construção do skatepark sem entenderem e satisfazerem as necessidades dos desportistas. Péssima construção. Tenho amigos que para ter uma boa sessão têm de ir para outras cidades. Não faz sentido!

there is no right review that can describe this skatepark in Figueira da foz… i’m local there for a long time, me and my friends watched the skatepark being built against our will… today i need to travel to other cities nearby to skate…what a disappointment 😔
The park is cool but is uncomplete, having a street part on a side it will be great
