Located at the entrance to Praia da Costa de Lavos, this small wooden skatepark sits just a few metres from the Atlantic Ocean, making it one of the more unusual skate spots in the Figueira da Foz area. The park occupies approximately 300 m² and provides a compact back-and-forth layout with a funbox, small quarterpipe, incline, manual pad and ground rail.
Despite its modest size, Costa de Lavos is an old-school local spot with considerably more history than its current documentation suggests. A geocaching listing from February 2008 already describes a skatepark with half-pipes at the beach, proving that a skate facility existed here at least as early as 2008. The park was also being used for events by 2010, with video documentation from that year specifically identifying the Costa de Lavos skatepark.
The current park is listed in the portfolio of A|Park (the former Academia dos Patins), which identifies Costa de Lavos as one of its skatepark projects.
The ramps are now showing their age, with rust and deterioration reported by riders, but the location remains difficult to beat: finish a skate session and you're practically at the beach.
