ABOUT SKATEPARK

Faro skatepark

Located at the Pavilhão Municipal da Penha in Faro, this large concrete skatepark combines street and transition areas with a varied selection of ramps and obstacles. The layout includes banks, quarters, ledges, rails, manual pads and a bowl, providing different lines for both technical street skating and transition riding.

The skatepark was designed by Francisco Lopez / SKATELOPEZ and built in 2009, with construction commissioned through a public works contract in 2008. It was officially inaugurated on 12 September 2009 as part of the Complexo Desportivo da Penha, following an investment of approximately €307,800. The park was designed to accommodate skateboarding, BMX and inline skating and was intended to host both local sessions and national and international competitions.

Faro's skatepark became one of the important early large-scale concrete skateparks in southern Portugal and remains a significant facility for the Algarve skateboarding community.

So i was there after 2 days of rain so the park was wet. Never the less the park makes absolutly no sense there are two street sections and between those two section there is a bowl. In the street sections there are not really obstacles there. So all in all a big park which is not well thought out but I heard they wanna rework it.

Place is amazing, lots a variety, nice for all skaters, from beginners to advanced level. Infortunately Faro City Hall doesn't care about the users, adults, childrens or families, no toilets, no regular cleaning, no maintenance. Fortunately Wallride association showed up and stepped up to "take care" of the Skatepark, very nice and passionate people they are !

Lots of variety here. Big and small transitions, bowl and street section.

Killer spot. Only things missing are toilets and a bar to have a drink, whilst the kids are having fun.

Love this park and it's super well managed by the local association Wallride. Definitely recommend to go on Wallride Sundays. Always a cool vibe and gathering.
