Located in Parque do Choupalinho on the banks of the Mondego River in Coimbra, the Choupalinho Skatepark is one of the city's older skate facilities. The compact concrete park features an open bowl, bank, kicker and mini-ramp, creating a simple mix of transition and street-style obstacles. The skatepark sits within a large riverside recreational area alongside sports facilities, green spaces and the Centro de Desportos Náuticos.
The skatepark forms part of the Parque do Choupalinho, developed as part of the wider Polis Coimbra urban regeneration programme. The neighbouring Parque Verde do Mondego was inaugurated in July 2004, and the Choupalinho area is documented as already containing a skatepark with ramps and half-pipes. The specific construction year and original builder of the skatepark have not been reliably identified.
