Located beside the municipal sports facilities in Benavente, this is one of the town's older skateparks. The park sits close to the municipal swimming pools, tennis courts and other sporting facilities, forming part of a larger recreational area.
The skatepark was already documented in municipal sports inventories dating from 2002, meaning the facility predates 2002 and may have been built during the 1990s. Its exact construction and opening year have not yet been established, but the ageing equipment and long history make it an interesting example of the early generation of Portuguese municipal skateparks.
Over the years the facility has suffered from a lack of maintenance, with local sources highlighting its deteriorating condition. Despite this, the park remains an important piece of Benavente's skateboarding history and demonstrates that dedicated skate facilities were already being provided in smaller Portuguese municipalities more than two decades ago.
