ABOUT SKATEPARK

Albufeira skatepark

Located in the Cidade Desportiva of Albufeira, the Parque Radical de Albufeira is one of Portugal's largest and most significant skateparks. The extensive concrete facility combines a large street section with transition areas, including bowls, quarters, banks, funboxes, ledges, rails, stairs and other obstacles. The original park also featured a distinctive snake run, which has since been removed.

The skatepark was designed and built by Francisco Lopez (SKATELOPEZ) and was inaugurated in 2007. The facility was created for skateboarding, BMX freestyle and inline skating and quickly became an important venue for national and international competitions. Its original snake run and bowl were particularly distinctive features, with the municipality describing them as unique in Portugal.

The skatepark has subsequently been upgraded, including a major first phase of requalification completed in 2022 and a new lighting system completed in 2025, improving the conditions for evening sessions. The skakerun unfortunately has been removed.

Lots off space but poor bowl and snake pit. Maintenance is poor, no cleaning and some iron drain covers are missing. The space is great for street sk8 and have loots off potential. The Bowl can be inproved, near the door facing the socer stadium it will be easy to build a surf skate ramp (half is already there). Ligths can be on sooner.

Really good and big. Won't get bored in a hurry. Could do with some maintenance, cracks are starting to form a bit everywhere, especially in the bowls.

Closed with chains when I was there and opening hours said it would be open.

Park looks way better than it actually is. Transition section sucks and parks needs some fixing.
