Pedra Branca in Empa beach is a fairly consistent left hander in Ericeira. It's a fast, powerful and hollow left that breaks almost always perfect thanks to the reef formation covered with sand. It's basically an exposed reef break for experienced surfers. This spot works best with east wind and with groundswells coming from west or southwest. Ericeira became a World Surfing Reserve back in 2011, after the organization Save the Waves Coalition declared Ericeira to become the second reserve to be distinguished in the world.
