10 Bucket list skateparks in Malaga

Skateparks in Malaga

3 weeks in Malaga is definetly not enough, becasue it's one of those places that you instantly regret not having booked longer the moment you arrive. You have so many cool cities nearby, street spots to shred and things to do, that 3 weeks pass in a glimpse. But, mission completed, I visited almost every skatepark, in and around Malaga, and here is my list of favorite parks. Please take in consideration that I like my bowls so my top 10 are mostly based on transition. Here they go.

1. Ruben Alcantara skatepark

This park's nickname, the Cathedral, says it all. It's a bucket list park, a skate and bmx paradise in this area of Spain. The park has something for everyone whether you're a rookie or a more experienced skater or biker: miniramps, vert, massive bowl, dirt track, concrete pumptrack, bars and much more. Book your flights.

2. El Limonar skatepark

This little bowl in Baden Powell park is loads of fun and worth a visit, but bring a broom. The bowl is mostly packed with death traps because of the surrounding trees. Cleaned for about 10 minutes, but it was worth the effort. Small but fun.

3. Rincon de la Victoria skatepark

Just outside of Malaga you have a recently built park that's worth the drive. Soulparks and Copesol did a great job. It's made up of a concrete bowl and street section that comes with a nice variety of obstacles. To top off the park you have a wooden miniramp. This park is worth a visit and you got the beach/promenade packed with restaurants nearby to finish off your session.

4. Pizarra skatepark

On the outskirts of Malaga you a little town called Pizarra. Pizarra skatepark is located on top of a hill with an amazing view and features a bowl and several basic but fun skate obstacles. And what's even better it has a skate bar next to the park with a wooden miniramp to end your session in style.

5. Murge skatepark

Unfortunately I didn't skate this one but looks like fun. The skatepark was closed because they were doing works on the surrounding area of the park. Of course I jumped the fence, but ended up getting kicked out, so took out the drone, flew back and got some shots.

6. Portada Alta skatepark

Portada Alta I think is one of the oldest parks in Malaga, making it an iconic and popular spot. The park features two concrete miniramps, several basic obstacles and some nice ledges on the sides.

7. Chernobil skatepark

Barbadillo skatepark is also known as Chernobil skatepark, because it's located next to an electricty central. The skatepark features several basic obstacles in a back and forth setup and seems to be a popular spot in the area.

8. Innova skatepark

This is a popular park that's basically impossible to skate in the weekends. The park features a bowl and street area with a nice variety of obstacles.

9. Barriada el Cordobes pumptrack

Want to pump those legs a bit? Barriada el Cordobes pumptrack is the place to be, because it features the only asphalt track in the area up to date.

10. Fuengirola skatepark

This park is located next to a shopping mall. So no need to say it can get crowded in the weekends. The park features several bowls, a street section and a nice restaurant on location to refuel with some tapas and drinks. Personally I thought the park looks much better than it actually is, but heym who am I.
