Trucks and Fins is a huge present to the whole skate community - not just for the skating people, but also for shops, builders and schools. Super easy to use and can't believe how complete it is.

Located at the northeast corner of Vegreville Composite High School, the Vegreville Rotary Skatepark is a brilliant community monument that completely transformed local action sports. Officially celebrating its grand opening in September 2023, this project was spearheaded by a relentless eight-year fundraising and grant campaign by the Rotary Club of Vegreville. Designed as an all-inclusive playground for skateboards, scooters, BMX bikes, and inline skates, the facility sits directly alongside a broader municipal park area featuring walking trails, benches, and specialized sensory walls built to accommodate children with special needs.
The architectural history of the park highlights a dedicated, multi-year community effort. In 2016, following extensive local youth surveys, the project committee officially partnered with New Line Skateparks Inc. to lead the community consultation workshops and draft the technical blueprints. After a long fundraising period extended by global supply chain pauses, the physical ground construction commenced in October 2022 and wrapped up in August 2023. The heavy earthwork, precise grading, and custom shotcrete placement were executed by the master concrete crew whose portfolio is managed by Transition Construction, ensuring the transitions were perfectly shaped and polished to survive Alberta’s severe freeze-thaw cycles.
The layout is a highly modern, compact hybrid park explicitly engineered to encourage technical street lines and seamless flow. Built from buttery-smooth, poured-in-place concrete, the space features a highly diverse collection of progression-focused street and transition obstacles. Skaters will find crisp down-ledges, specialized bump-to-ledges, A-frame elements, a flat rail, and a beautifully engineered quarter-pipe setup for building up trick speed. The obstacle sizing and spacing are explicitly laid out to be welcoming and low-risk for local kids just learning to push, while retaining enough geometric complexity to keep advanced street riders fully engaged.
The Vegreville Rotary Skatepark is an outdoor, public concrete park that is completely free to the public. The park functions as a daytime facility without dedicated night floodlights and can be found at 6817 50 Avenue, right on the schoolyard grounds in Vegreville, Alberta.
TrucksandFins Tip: Because the park is built directly onto a high school campus, it carries a high-energy, community-centered vibe, especially on weekends and during after-school hours. Bring your standard hard street wheels to take full advantage of the pristine, smooth concrete finish hand-troweled by the build crew. If you're planning an all-day trip, the location offers great access to campus parking and stands just a short distance from Vegreville's world-famous giant Pysanka (Ukrainian Easter Egg) landmark.
