Tryin’ HQ is an indoor skatepark located at 28 Avenue Road, Hartlepool, TS24 8AT, United Kingdom. Unlike open-air public parks, it operates as an indoor facility, making it one of the few covered skate venues serving Hartlepool and the wider Tees Valley area. Positioned right near the town center and within walking distance of the Hartlepool railway station, it offers short-stay parking directly outside as well as nearby public car parks. Because it is a private indoor venue, entry requires standard session fees, with distinct opening hours across the week covering public drop-ins, beginner sessions, and specialized group slots.
Being centrally located on Avenue Road, the venue is surrounded by local shops, food outlets, and town-center conveniences. Indoors, the venue provides a safe, weather-proof space complete with local community coaching programs and designated sessions tailored specifically for younger children and parents. It also functions occasionally as a community hub hosting local music showcases, launch parties, and youth events.
The park was created by local North East skater Andy Pike. What began in 2015 as an informal effort to gather local riders evolved into the opening of the physical indoor facility in late 2022. Founded with a core mission to support physical and mental health through wheeled sports, Tryin’ HQ provides an inclusive, positive alternative to mainstream athletics, offering a year-round home for the local skateboarding, scooter, and BMX community.
