Thuir Skatepark is a large modern concrete skatepark located along the D612 in Thuir, in the Pyrénées-Orientales region of southern France. The current facility was delivered in July 2023 for the Ville de Thuir, with Constructo Skatepark responsible for the design and a construction team including Vulcano Skateparks, Airline Skateparks, RGTP and Inout Concept. The project covers approximately 2,165 m² and represented an investment of €750,000 excluding tax.
The current park replaced or substantially transformed an older municipal skatepark that had been in service since around 2009. The new facility was developed as a polyvalent skatepark combining bowl, flow and street riding, creating a much larger and more sophisticated facility for the local wheeled-sports community.
The centrepiece is a large, deep meandering bowl with extensions, a spine and rounded platforms. Its flowing geometry encourages riders to pump through the transitions and generate speed for aerial tricks. The park also includes a substantial street section with rails, handrails, stairs, curbs, ledges, banks and pyramids, together with a flow area suitable for beginners.
With more than 2,000 m² of riding surface and a combination of transition and street terrain, Thuir Skatepark is one of the major skateparks in the Pyrénées-Orientales. Its scale and varied layout make it suitable for riders ranging from beginners to experienced skateboarders, BMX riders, roller skaters and scooter riders.
