Snakepark DIY is a unique DIY skatepark in Battice, Herve, Belgium, created on the site of a former SNCB railway station. The project was initiated in 2022 by Antony Pottier, together with a collective of local riders from Herve. Rather than following a conventional skatepark design, Snakepark has a highly creative and experimental character, with unusual custom-built obstacles including curved and kinked rails, rails that rise and fall, chains and spring-mounted slide bars. The park was still being expanded when it was showcased during La Street République in 2023.
The project has become particularly popular within the inline skating, scooter and skateboarding communities, and its distinctive DIY approach makes it unlike a typical commercial skatepark.
