The Henderson SLP Skatepark, prominently located at the entrance of the popular Henderson Park in Lethbridge, Alberta, is a highly customized 10,000-square-foot facility. Consistent with the other landmark projects we have been reviewing, this park was designed and constructed by New Line Skateparks following an extensive public consultation process.
The layout features a unique blend of urban plaza elements, modern street obstacles, and flowing, snake-run-influenced transition terrain, all carefully integrated into the surrounding green space. What truly sets this facility apart is its localized, skateable art installations. The design pays direct homage to Lethbridge’s industrial roots, featuring custom obstacles that reference the city's coal mining history and its world-famous High-Level train bridge.
By balancing high-performance riding surfaces with meaningful community themes and sponsorship integrations, the Henderson SLP Skatepark serves as both a premier action sports destination and a celebrated public art space for the region.
