ABOUT SKATEPARK

Skarnes skatepark

Glommasvingen Rullepark is a large 800 m² cast-in-place concrete skate and wheeled-sports park in Skarnes, Norway. The park was built with Betongpark and officially opened in 2021, after several years of work led by Odal Skateklubb and local driving force Karen Gjermundrød. The park combines a street plaza with a bowl corner, creating a varied layout suitable for skateboarding, BMX, scooters, inline skates and other wheeled activities. The facility was designed to accommodate riders from beginners through to more experienced users and is located between Skarnes videregående skole and Glommasvingen skole, effectively functioning as an extended outdoor activity area for both schools.

The project began in 2017, when Odal Skateklubb started developing the idea of a centrally located concrete wheeled-sports park. Betongpark provided free consultancy and support throughout the four-year development process, while the project was financed through a combination of public funding, foundations, local businesses and community contributions. The official opening took place on 23 October 2021, with Norway's Minister of Culture and Sport Anette Trettebergstuen attending the ceremony. Today, the park is open to everyone and is used for a wide range of wheeled activities.
