ABOUT SKATEPARK

Silver Comet skatepark

Located along the famous multi-use Silver Comet Trail at 4550 Richard D. Sailors Parkway, the Silver Comet Linear Park Skatepark (often called the Powder Springs Skatepark) is an elite, 20,000-square-foot action sports facility in Cobb County. The site originally hosted a very basic, small asphalt pad containing a tiny peanut bowl, but the local riding scene quickly outgrew it. To deliver a premier athletic asset to the Atlanta metropolitan area, the City of Powder Springs authorized a massive $1.8 million total redevelopment. The old footprint was entirely demolished to make way for an international competition-standard concrete facility, which celebrated its grand opening on October 14, 2023.

The entire architectural design and physical concrete construction of this flagship park were executed exclusively by California Skateparks, a globally renowned design-build firm celebrated for engineering Olympic and Street League Skateboarding (SLS) courses.

The layout is a highly progressive hybrid design cleanly divided into an expansive street plaza and an advanced transition zone. The standout feature of the transition section is a beautifully sculpted, multi-depth concrete flow bowl complex complete with varying pocket depths, extensions, and crisp pool coping. Running adjacent to the bowl is a Street League-inspired plaza run. This section is heavily packed with a pro-level arsenal of modern street obstacles, including multi-level stair sets, handrails, flat bars, manual pads, a standard central pyramid, and a diverse selection of crisp down-ledges and hubbas.

The Silver Comet Linear Park Skatepark is an outdoor, public concrete facility that is 100% free to access. The park operates on a standard dawn-to-dusk schedule without sports lighting and is located at the Silver Comet Linear Park, 4550 Richard D. Sailors Parkway, Powder Springs, Georgia.

TrucksandFins Tip: The park is an exceptional destination for an all-day road trip because it sits directly off the main trail network. Visiting riders have immediate access to a wealth of premium public amenities, including ample paved vehicle parking, expansive playgrounds, a covered basketball court, shaded picnic pavilions, and fully serviced indoor public restrooms located right next to the park at the main concession building.
