SFM Skatepark is a new concrete skate plaza and pump track on the waterfront at Bellamy Harbor Park in Rome, New York. Built as a community-driven project in memory of Stone Francis Mercurio, the park transformed a former industrial site along the Erie Canal into a new public space for skating and recreation. The park combines a modern concrete skate plaza with a long pump track, creating different types of terrain for skateboarders and other wheeled sports. The project was developed with accessibility and inclusivity in mind, and the wider site includes seating, shade structures and space for community events.
The SFM Skatepark Project began as a grassroots movement led by Stone's family, friends and local skaters. More than a thousand people supported the campaign, helping turn the idea of a destination skatepark into reality.
Designed and built by Artisan Skateparks, SFM Skatepark is now a major addition to Rome's waterfront and a new gathering point for the local skate community.
