Trucks and Fins is a huge present to the whole skate community - not just for the skating people, but also for shops, builders and schools. Super easy to use and can't believe how complete it is.

5th Ave N &, Broad St, Seattle, Washington 98109, United States of America
Located directly under the gaze of the iconic Space Needle and adjacent to the Museum of Pop Culture, the Seattle Center Skate Plaza serves as a premier hub for street skateboarding in the Pacific Northwest. This 18,000-square-foot facility was designed by New Line Skateparks in partnership with VDZ+A (Van der Zalm + Associates) and built by Grindline Skateparks. Replacing the former SeaSk8 park, the plaza was a high-profile collaborative effort between the City of Seattle, the Oak View Group, and dedicated local advocates including the non-profit Skate Like A Girl and the Seattle Center Skatepark Coalition.
The design masterfully navigates complex urban site constraints, transforming a former section of Broad Street into a vibrant, inclusive public space. As a street-style focused plaza, the park prioritizes accessibility and progression, offering ample flexible space for beginners to hone their skills alongside technical features for seasoned riders. The project also highlights a deep commitment to sustainability and art; it integrates native plantings and innovative on-site stormwater treatment areas, alongside custom lighting and the re-installation of artistic glass paneling by local artist Perri Howard. By filling a vital gap in the city’s skatepark network, the Seattle Center Skate Plaza stands as a welcoming destination that celebrates the diverse culture and creative spirit of Seattle’s action sports community.
