Built by SKATELOPEZ by Gaspar in 2009, Parque da Alagoa Skatepark is a concrete facility located in Parque da Alagoa in Horta, on Faial Island. The park was developed as part of the municipality's efforts to provide a dedicated facility for skateboarding and urban sports. The location within Parque da Alagoa places it close to the Municipal Swimming Pool and Praia da Conceição, with the surrounding park providing a relaxed setting beside the waterfront.
The project was originally commissioned after the municipality recognised the lack of a dedicated place for skateboarding in Horta. The architectural project was awarded to Radical Skate Board, with the new facility inaugurated in 2009.
