Completed in late 2025, the new urban sports facility in Lukwelpark marks a major upgrade for the municipality of Oosterhout. Situated between Mgr. Frencken College and the Wilhelmina Canal, this integrated park brings skateboarding, BMX, scootering, and street culture together into a single, high-flowing architectural design.
Developed to replace fragmented, outdated spots across the city, the project was shaped step-by-step alongside local youth, community workers, and the municipality. Instead of a standard blueprint, the layout directly reflects how the local community moves, offering a natural flow that accommodates everything from a beginner's first drop-in to highly technical street lines.
After initial project delays, Nine Yards was appointed by the municipality to bring our extensive European experience to the table and get the development back on track. We stepped in to ensure Oosterhout received a world-class facility—handling rigorous process management, realistic timelines, and flawless execution. The result is a vibrant public meeting place wrapped in fresh greenery, new lighting, and social seating, turning a sports facility into the ultimate neighborhood hub.
